Course Summary

This practical half-day training course is designed specifically for garage reception and front-of-house staff who regularly interact with electric vehicles, particularly Tesla models, in a customer-facing environment.
The course provides a clear and accessible introduction to electric vehicle fundamentals, helping delegates understand how EVs operate and equipping them to confidently address common customer questions and misconceptions. A strong emphasis is placed on safe vehicle handling, including correct entry, exit, and low-speed movement of Tesla vehicles within the workshop or forecourt.
Participants will gain hands-on familiarity with Tesla access and security systems, including key cards, phone keys, and walk-away locking, as well as essential driving and manoeuvring features relevant to reception staff. Special operating modes such as Sentry Mode, Car Wash Mode, and touchscreen cleaning are explained to ensure vehicles are handled correctly during routine visits.
The course also covers charging basics and effective customer communication, alongside an overview of Tesla’s driver assistance systems, including Autopilot and Summon, with guidance on setting realistic customer expectations. Battery health, range considerations, and everyday ownership questions are discussed, enabling front-of-house staff to provide accurate, confident, and professional support.
On completion, you will receive a certificate of attendance which can be used towards Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits.
