Course Summary

This comprehensive one day training course is designed for automotive professionals seeking to build confidence and competence in electrical system diagnostics.
Automotive Electrical Testing and Diagnosis provides a solid refresher on essential electrical fundamentals, while advancing participants’ skills in modern diagnostic techniques. Through a combination of theory and hands-on practice, delegates will explore the principles of voltage, current, resistance, and circuit behaviour, and apply these concepts using industry-standard and innovative test methods, that are both creative and effective.
The course places strong emphasis on the practical use of dedicated automotive electrical test equipment, including multimeters, test lights, current clamps, and specialist automotive diagnostic tooling. Participants will develop the ability to accurately identify, test, and diagnose faults in a wide range of vehicle electrical systems, preparing them for real-world workshop challenges.
This course also provides the essential knowledge and practical skills required to progress onto our series of three one-day Automotive Oscilloscope Training courses, enabling deeper diagnostic capability and enhanced technical proficiency.
Ideal for technicians, apprentices, and those transitioning into diagnostic roles, this course bridges foundational knowledge with applied expertise in automotive electrical diagnostics.
On completion, you will receive a certificate of attendance which can be used towards Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits.
